The World Race is an 11-month journey to 11 different countries across the world, where a team of 50 believers will be providing ministry in countless forms to “the least of these”. The World Race is a program run by the organization Adventures in Missions (view below to read more about Adventures in Missions and what it does). On the World Race I will be traveling to each of the 11 destinations with a group of 50 other Christians, called a squad. Upon landing in each country, our squad will break up into smaller teams and will each be assigned to a different ministry/project for that month. Throughout this 11-month journey we will be living out of backpacks and camping out in tents each night, growing in community with those whom we are traveling with and being exposed to the raw, simplistic lifestyle that those we are serving experience every day.
Truths: I will smell. I will be dirty. I will be eating a lot of bizarre/interesting foods (and sometimes all I’ll want is a nice hamburger or lasagna). I will get frustrated with my living conditions and my lack of resources. I will get homesick. But above all I will be growing in my relationship with the Lord. I will have the opportunity to work as His hands and feet. I will see miracles. I will experience His grace. I will gain patience and perspective. I will learn to value the little things in life and be thankful for what I have. I will be answering the call that the Lord has placed on my life. I will be changed forever.
