 1 word, 2 vowels, 4 letters , 2 kinds, 1 good ,1 not .

The first kind of fear is “fear of the Lord” this is the good kind. Fear of the Lord is an understanding of how much power and glory God holds and the acknowledgment of all that he is. This fear is good because it provides us with wisdom and security.

The second kind of fear is the “spirit of fear” it’s that gut wrenching feeling that when something you see or something some one says makes your heart drop, gives you chills, makes you uncomfortable, nervous and scared out of your mind…..I hate to break it to you but if you haven’t noticed yet this kind of fear really sucks.
The past few weeks God has really laid the message of fear on my heart. It started out with a small bible study that Adventures in Missions provides for all world racers. I was given the verses Mark 5:21-24 and Mark 5:35-43 to look at. After studying these verses and looking at some of the notes they provided us with, one thing stuck out “don’t let your fear hold you back from what God wants to show you”. Not to much longer after that I continued reading my book (that HAD nothing to do with fear) have an entire chapter about fear. Coincidence? I think not. It said ” you either kick fear out of your heart or it will keep you out of the places God has prepared for you”. So I’m not sure if y’all are seeing a pattern yet but God was really trying to tell me something….and I didn’t notice.
After reading pretty much the same thing twice I go to church the next Wednesday and my pastor speaks about fear and the verses he speaks about are the same ones I read a week before. So I’m flipping through my journal trying to figure out where the heck I had heard this story before and about five minutes later I finally find it in my world race notes. So at this point I feel stupid because all of this is just now coming together for me. So I mean I could go on and on with these stories, for instance I was watching greys anatomy the other day and Catherine Avery was telling Kepner that “it’s not the power that defeats you it’s the fear”. I mean I’m telling you God really wanted me to hear this. So I’m asking for prayers that this message stays with me and you as well.
