Words. Words. Words. Pep talks. Pep rallies. Meetings. Thoughts. Books. Sermons. Journals. Keyboards. Pens on paper. Notes. Blogs. Words on words on words. Studying. Learning. Reading. Words and words and… guess what?? MORE WORDS!

Hey, Words! Can you tell that I’m getting fed up with all your vowels and consonants?

I’m not really annoyed with you, Words. I’m just annoyed when we become so involved with you that we forget to act. I’m guilty of this. I love to study and analyze the Bible’s words without striving to apply its teachings to my life. I become a brain without a body. And no one wants to be a brain without a body… that’d just be awkward.

So I’m going to take my own advice and combat this word-based imbalance by compiling a list of action-based goals for the month. Here are some of my goals for the month:

1.) Run for 20 mins twice a week
2.) Dance with Ugandans
3.) Buy a gift for someone
4.) Learn how to cook something new
5.) Do push-ups three days a week
6.) Do someone else’s laundry
7.) Devote at least 30 mins a day to reading the Bible & praying
8.) Initiate more team-times
9.) Start & finish a graphic design project (just like old times)
10.) Say zero words on one day while focusing on action
11.) End every team-time with hugs all around

August, you are going to be a month of action for me.

(And I’m not just saying that.)
