Every man used to be a boy, but not every boy will become a man
RESPONSIBILITY. When a boy hears this word, he turns and runs… even if he’s lazy and hates running. Men, however, take on responsibilities and own them. What does that look like in real life? Confronting problems instead of ignoring them. Doing the right thing even when it's inconvenient. Working hard. Owning up to your mistakes. You know… stuff like that.
SACRIFICE. Boys hate sacrifice while men embrace it as an opportunity to practice love. Surrendering your preferences so that someone else's desires can be fulfilled: that is sacrifice. Taking off your coat and putting it around the shoulders of another: that is love. Considering your neighbors before you consider yourself: these are the kinds of things that men are known by.
INITIATIVE. Men are leaders. They are action-takers. Conversation-starters. If two people have an issue, I would say that the one who initiates the process of reconciliation is the more manly one. Men step up to the plate. They rise to the occasion, look Fear in the face, and accept the challenge. Comfortability does not affect the decision making process of someone who walks in manhood.
