These are just a few of the things I’ve experienced so far this month! 24 of us from R Squad are currently in Malaybalay helping Kids International Ministry (KIM) for the next 3 weeks. It is a rural setting and the weather is cooler, thankfully! J It is quite possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever lived….we’re surrounded by green mountains, the clouds are these massive cumulus cotton balls that I’d love to jump on. We are quite close to the equator so the sun is REALLY intense (I get color through my SPF 50). My first night here I saw the biggest, brightest, falling star I’ve ever seen.
Our ministry contacts are fantastic! They are doing great things to care for the children of Malaybalay. We also have opportunities to go into the local prison on a regular basis, work with young future leaders in Malaybalay, help with a feeding program, help with Awana for 250-400 kids on Saturday, etc. There are definitely plenty of things to be involved in.
