It’s been the question on my mind alot lately….

How do I say thank you to all of you who are supporting me on this journey?  How can I ever express how deeply I appreciate and need your prayers, your financial blessings, your encouraging words in emails, Skype calls, facebook comments…

How do I thank you for the beautiful opportunities you’ve given me to love and to be loved?  I feel like the most blessed woman on the earth on a regular basis.

Yesterday our team had the great privilege of taking “our boys” to a swimming pool.

There are 6 of them, street children, who come regularly to the Kaleb night shelter for a shower, a chance to hand wash their clothes, a warm meal, and a safe place to spend the night.  This is where we met.  They don’t speak English, we don’t speak Khmer, yet our relationships have grown and flourished because of love.

It was a glorious day of fun and love!  When we pulled up to the shelter yesterday morning you could hear their excited voices coming from inside the house before we even got out of our tuk tuk.  We were greeted with the biggest smiles and happy chatter.

We piled into two tuk tuks and set off on our adventure.  They flew around the pool like you’d expect 7 (2 of the boys’ older brother came also) boys to do.  They threw each other in, did back flips off the edge, ran around like crazy, did flips off of Heidi, Matthew, and Chris, yelled, splashed, flirted with the girls at the pool and in general had a blast (keep in mind all while only wearing their underoos – so cute!)

I watched as our relationships with them grew to a new level.  There were more hugs, more “I love yous,” more hand-holding and cuddling, more smiles than any other time we’ve spent with them.  It was so beautiful.  It melts my heart to think of it.  I wrestle knowing only a glimpse of the life they live day in and day out – begging – sexual abuse – cruelty – yet, seeing the joy on their faces when we spend time together, and the way they freely love us is priceless and challenges me.

It’s so hard to think of our good byes tomorrow night.  Please pray for us as we transition out of Phnom Penh and into our squad debrief starting Thursday in Siem Reip!  I’d also like to ask a favor of you.  You’ve been incredibly generous in supporting me financially – (Thank You Jesus!) – but I have a couple of precious teammates, Pam Wilson and Chris Garcia, that are in need of financial support in order to continue on this journey.  Would you pray about it and if led, send some support their way?

In conclusion I say a million thank yous to all of you!  Thank you for providing a way for opportunities like yesterday to happen.  I’m praying God would bless you beyond your wildest dreams as He has used you to bless me!

Much love from Cambodia!!
