I’m having a great time in the afternoons when I get to spend time with Theary, the 2nd year mid-wife student I am tutoring in Anatomy & Pbysiology. We have 2 hours together and we chat, study A&P, professional English, computers, and discuss the book The Purpose Driven Life. I feel like God’s favorite child. Really, this is how I get to spend 2 hours every afternoon?!
A couple of days ago we were chatting about the chapter she had just read in The Purpose Driven Life. I felt a little nudge from God, like, hey, here’s an opportunity. I started to open up to her and shared a couple of struggles that I have. She in turn shared some of her struggles. There were similarities as we shared which I found comforting and she seemed to as well. Eventually we reached the point in the conversation where we both knew that our only hope is to ask Jesus to help us change the way we think and act. I asked her if I could pray for her and she said yes. We had a great time praying together and when I finished she thanked me and said, “Will you pray for me everyday until you leave.”
My heart was so blessed in that moment. What an honor!
God, You are so amazing and good! Not only do I get to share 2 hours a day with this beautiful, intelligent, Khmer woman, I also get the privilege to pray with her everyday and see You bring change and transformation in her life lilke only You can do!
It’s just one more reason I am on the World Race!!!
