Life changing moments.

We all have them. Some more frequently than others. Some good and some bad; but we all have them.

The funny thing about them, is that sometimes you don’t realize it until afterwards. After the dust settles, after the emotions fade. After you finally sleep in your own bed after 10 days of sleeping outside in a tent…

The 10 days of training camp (Oct 16-26) were some of the most wonderful and most draining days of my life. The World Race training camp is a 10 day intensive training session that challenges you physically, emotionally and spiritually to ensure that everyone involved is ready for the 11 months in the field.

From door to door evangelism in the neighborhoods of Gainesvile, GA to sleeping in tents every night- all of our bases were covered to ensure that we are prepared to live in less developed areas and more importantly, share The Gospel to people of all nations.

Through the use of the Jesus Film and God Tools apps, we have access to hundreds of Gospel related videos across hundreds of different languages to ensure that language is never a barrier to spreading the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. These can and will be utilized when English can’t be used effectively and translators are not around.

The fire for Jesus demonstrated by my squad of 46, and especially by my team of 7, (who I’ll spend the first 5 months with) is something that in and of itself is inspiring. I can’t wait to stand alongside them as warriors for Christ. (Squad and team pictured below)

Adventures in Mission created an environment that allowed World Racers to question Scripture that they didn’t understand, encourage one another to dive deeper into The Word, and prepared us for the 11 months abroad while making sure that we understand that the remaining two months in America are just as important as our time next year.

It is easy for us as World Racers to get caught up in the excitement of traveling next year, but AIM made sure that we understood that this isn’t an 11 month trip they’re preparing us for, but a lifetime of constant ministry, wherever we may be.

This Training Camp is something that I will always remember. Not for one specific training session, or any of the particularly cold nights, but because of the love that I felt from those around me and the strengthening of my relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s one big moment that I’ll always remember.

I know I continually ask for financial support, but if you feel led to support Jesus’ love through me over the next 11 months (beginning in Jan) I would greatly appreciate any type of financial contribution here (or venmo to @Jbaker), as the remaining $7.5k is quite daunting.  If you are unable to contribute financially, I do ask that you follow my blog so that I am able to keep you updated on all of the wonderful things that we are going to accomplish on the trip. Thanks and God bless!
