It is crazy how fast time flys. It feels like I blinked and now almost a month has gone by since I did a sponsor blog update. I realized today, I had some serious catching up to do so here it is!

I

June 21st: Adventure Day: Quinten Blank

In the middle of last month our host had a retreat that we couldn’t go to so we had a 3 day adventure trip from the 21st-23rd. My teammate Mack did a great job at finding this beautiful hostel for only $15 a night. To get there we took a taxi, two buses and then another taxi. That night we spent most of our time at the hostel enjoying rest.

June 30th: Rest Day: Christine Hatch

The 30th was our first full day in Costa Rica and our host was finishing up working with the prior team that was here so we had the opportunity to meet and hang out with a great youth group missions team from College Station, Texas. The afternoon started with a prayer walk on the property our ministry this month is aspiring to purchase. They have been trying to acquire property for their ministry for a long time and they are excited about how this may it! One thing I really took away from this prayer walk is how they really made it a point to us to pray for God’s will to be done. If God’s will isn’t  for them to have this property than they want to be ok with that. Seeing their desire for God’s will be done over what they wanted was very cool to see and pray for. Later that night we all had an awesome night playing volleyball.

July 4th: Ministry Day: Wirth Family

The day started off with our ministry helping run a vacation bible school for a nearby church. Then later in the afternoon we helped start painting the church. When we came home, we were so thankful to have great hosts who understand what it’s like to be away from the US. Our host dad prepared a great 4th of July dinner of Burgers and Hot Dogs.

July 8th: Ministry Day: Grandpa and Grandma Jilly

In my last blog I mentioned how we we were going on a medical missions weekend. It was one of the best weekends of the race so far and I’m excited that we have an opportunity to do it again next weekend! Sunday was our kids portion of the weekend where we set up the trampoline, had crafts and a bible story. After the morning we packed everything up and headed home.

July 9th: Rest Day: Grandpa and Grandma Jilly

After a long weekend we had a much needed rest day where we played board games and took a bus to the local mall where we watched the new Jurassic Park.

July 10th and 11th: Sick Day’s: Grandpa and Grandma Jilly

I woke up sick on the 10th and ended up missing ministry on the 10th and 11th. Everything is all better now though!

July 12th: Ministry Day: Grandpa and Grandma Jilly

We went back to the church we ran the vacation bible school and painted at on July 4th. This time while some of us painted, others set up a curtain to extend the walls on the stage (see video for details).

July 13th: Rest Day: Grandpa and Grandma Jilly

Today was a nice rest day that reminded me a lot like home. The day started off with watching the Wimbledon Semifinals, then going to the nearby park to play Spikeball and through frisbee. The night ended with working out, playing Catan (my favorite board game), eating dinner, and now watching The Office as I right this blog.

As always thank you all for your continual support and following along on this journey. I can’t believe I will be home in 44 days!
