Sorry this one took so long to post but I want to thank Doug and Audrey Logar for sponsoring October 20th!

October 20th was a day unlike most. Nothing mindblowing happened but it was very good day of refueling. The day started like most here with a prayer walk, however, this day I walked into town instead of into the outskirts of town. I walked to town and just ended up sitting on a bench in the square and just did some people watching. I sat there and let my thoughts and prayers wander. It was so refreshing to just sit there and spend some time listening to what God had to say. After the prayer walk that really personally turned into a “prayer sit” we all met back at the church to do our daily tasks there. We had gotten so much done the prior days that we only had to clear out the shed which only took about an hour. After cleaning out the shed and playing a little basketball I went to the farmers market for the first time and it was really cool. From there I went to a local restaurant to get wifi to get some work done. Then before heading home, my squad leader and I went to the grocery store to get some things we needed plus some make shift s’more ingredients. They don’t have marshmallows but they did have a cookie that was a marshmallow surrounded by chocolate, and to go with it we got cookies that were gram cracker on one side and chocolate on the other.

When we got back to the church we had a fire and I must say it wasn’t your typical s’more but we made it work. After s’mores we had a feedback session with the team. Feedback sessions are when we encourage each other to become better and be the best son’s and daughter’s of God that we can be. This can be through encouragement or constructive criticism. Going into these feedback sessions can be stressful because you don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. However, the reality is that with a group like this it is always done with love, and feedback is necessary for the team to be the best it can be. After the fire we went out to the movies with a local and got pizza afterwards all for less than $7. I already know when I come home I’m going to struggle to paying American prices again. Then to end the night the pizza came with 3 hot peppers. I asked my teammate Ethan what are the odds you eat two of the peppers at the same time. He said 1 in 2. We both said 1 and he was a man of his word. He ate both of those peppers and it is part of the reason why we ran out of milk faster than anticipated. I’ve never seen someone’s face turn that red that fast. Then we went to bed, but I want to take a second here to give a shout out to my teammates.

Everyone was/has been asking me before I left and since I got here if I like my team and how are they. This pepper things is just one example of how fun they are. My team is awesome, I don’t really understand how after only living together for such a short period of time how we can already be so close. They are fun but they are all also so on fire for God and have a heart for missions that helps to keep my fire burning when I am struggling. I miss my family back home a lot but I am making another one here that I know already will be just as difficult to depart from when this is all over.
