I grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Family has always been really important to me and will undoubtedly be what I miss the most when I am gone. My cousins are some of my best friends and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Being so close to my one cousin Mitch is the main reason why my family changed churches to my current church Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ (McBic). I started attending youth group at McBic in 8th grade which is when faith started to become important to me. I have no idea where I would be in life without youth group and all of the truly amazing people who made up that community. With them I have been on week long mission’s trips to Nicaragua, the Bronx, Puerto Rico, New Mexico and Guatemala. The first mission’s trip was to Nicaragua and that was where I discovered the heart for missions God gave me. While I was in 10th-12th grade I was a leader for the middle school youth group which is when I first fell in love with being a leader. I graduated from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High in 2013 and I have attended college at West Chester University of Pennsylvania since then as a Business Management Major. Before even coming to West Chester I made sure they had an Ultimate Frisbee team and I joined as soon as I could when I arrived. 4 years later, it has been the greatest 4 years in my athletic career. I was the treasurer last year, and this year I am both the Vice President and one of the two captains of the Men’s Ultimate team. I also regularly attend the Christian group here on campus called Cru. For the last two summers I have worked at an overnight Bible Camp called Kenbrook in Lebanon, PA. They have been the greatest two summers of my life. Being a part of that staff has showed me what a true mature Christian community looks like and I am very excited to be going back to work there for one more summer before I leave. I will greatly miss being a part of all of these groups along with all of my friends and family when I depart in October, but at the same time I could not be more excited for this opportunity to go on this trip and start my mission’s career.
