Lost My Face in Uganda Part 2

   For a recap in my last blog I was cleaning a roof and I got stung in the lip by an African Wasp!! This was not a normal wasp, this was an African wasp!!!! Istantly after getting stung by the wasp my lip swell really fast!!! In 5 min. my entire lip looked like a balloon!!!   About 1h later my cheeks and lip were swollen!! I looked like a chipmunk storing food in my cheeks!!!!! 

 

            My face looking like a balloon was not even the worst part!! The hard part was actually having to do ministry with my face distorted!!! I had to drink water out of straw from the side of my mouth and it was a struggle to eat food!! People looked at me differently as if I were some kind of disease!! I had this problem for about five days!!! God really begin to work on my heart!!! He was forming my identity in him!!!

 

           On the race something that is really taught is what is our identity!! Before coming on the race I did not ever talk to people about me struggling with who I am and not really apprieciating who God created me to be!! In one wasp sting harsh realities arose in my life and I was struggling!! Crazy thoughts came across my mine about what if my face never came back again!!! At first the medicine I was given did not work at all!!!! I did not show but deep down I begin to panic!!!

 

            Walking in security in who I am in Christ has been a deep struggle!! I have had a huge capacity to love people but at the same time I need to have that love filled by people!!! ‘That is what I have been walking through my journey on the race!!
