As part of our ministry in Ukraine we would visit a home that fed street people. While we were there we would share a word with the people and just hangout and talk about life. It was needed and definitely greatly appreciated by them, and it touched our lives as well.
Being seen and heard is an idea that is very powerful, and if taken away can lead to a lot of damage in a person’s life. Getting to listen to people’s stories is not something I take lightly. I cherish it and I am very thankful for the opportunity that has been given me. While we were at the street home it was an opportunity for people just to talk about God, and the hardships that they have dealt with. Questions like: Why am I poor? Why people do people not help me? Does God love me? Why don’t I get any breaks in life? Honestly, I can’t answer those questions. However, I can listen to them and let them know that God sees them. One question I confidently can answer is that God loves you.
I believe that we can mistake people that live on the street for always looking for handouts. That’s not always the case. There are some many people that need to be loved, seen, and heard. They need to know that God sees them, loves them, and they do matter. Every human being on this earth is loved by God hands down. That phrase is life changing, but only if it is accepted and known. God is continuously reaffirming that with me. He is continuing to tell me that I am loved by Him. It is up to me to receive it.

When we understand that our heavenly father loves us, it breaks chains that propel us into a free and secure lifestyle. The fear of rejection will be banished, the fear of loneliness will banish, a security in our identity will come, and the fear of trust will be banished. A new beautiful life will be formed. David is a great example of knowing God’s love. When he knew God’s love, out birth a book of Psalms, and lifestyle after God’s own heart who knows you may even write one next. Please read psalms 139 it is my favorite psalm and it is incredibly powerful.
