Thursday morning, the 8th, we had our morning devo and time of listening prayer, and then sent Mandy and Danica off to meet with Branch Ministries. They had a really great visit, and came back to the group with many stories about all the things the Lord was doing in Branch Ministries, and all the ways that they had been blessed so far. They were definitely a solid UH submission. We spent the day doing more research, and by that afternoon John and Kelsie had lined up a visit with the coordinator of a local prison ministry.

John and Kelsie got back to the place where we were staying around dinner time, and after dinner they shared about their visit. Turns out Deb and her husband have several different ministries they’re involved in, including prison ministry, youth outreach, and feeding programs. Deb’s husband is currently in America for medical reasons, but while John and Kelsie were visiting with her, she invited our team to come stay with her and her 4 kids for the next few days! Free lodging, free wi-fi there to do more research…..perfect!

So Mandy was right about us packing up and moving on Friday after all. We packed our things, cleaned up the house we were staying at, and got picked up by Deb and her friend. We got settled in, and spent the afternoon continuing to research potential contacts, and hanging out with her 3 kiddos.

Saturday morning the 10th we loaded up bright and early and went to a village just outside of the city limits. There we cooked a meal Swazi style (I guess it’s just Africa style), with the big 3-legged kettles over an open fire. We hung out with the kids, taught them a bible lesson, played some games, and then fed them the stew that we had cooked for lunch. We arrived at 8am and left around 2pm, and had an absolute blast hanging out with about 100 kids. For many of the kids, the only solid meal they get is lunch at schoo, Mon-Fri. So they do the feeding program on Saturdays to try to fill everyone’s tummys for the weekend as well.

So definitely a solid UH submission, needless to say. It’s Saturday night here, and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings….I’ll keep ya’all posted!
