Saturday the 24th, during the bus ride back to Gaborone, Gavi texted me the number of a pastor in Francistown. I called him, and he texted me back the number of his friend in Gaborone. I called HIM, and he picked us up at the bus rank in Gaborone, and took us to his home. Him and his wife had 2 extra bedrooms, and were kind enough to open their home to our team. The Lord has SOO been blessing us!!! We stayed with them that night, and went to church with them Sunday morning, the 25th. I ended up helping lead worship, and John shared about some of what our team has been doing here in Botswana. We stayed with them Sunday night as well, and then Monday morning we moved over to Beam’s campsite, where the rest of the squad was planning to meet up on Wednesday night.
Tuesday and Wednesday we had meetings with 2 more contacts, and wrapped up all the logistical pieces to our UH month. Both of the meetings went really well, and they both ended up being UH submissions! They were both contacts that John had found. The first was a solid church that had several outreach opportunities, and the second was a young man who had a Rock Climbing ministry!
Wednesday afternoon our fellow squad-mates started trickling in, and 4:45am Thursday morning we jumped on a bus to head to the Johannesburg airport in SA. That’s where I am now, waiting for our flight to Romania!!!
Thanks so much for following our UH journey this month – it’s overwhelming to stop and think about all the ways we saw the Lord show up. I couldn’t think of a more appropriate team name – team LED. It’s been a blessing to serve on a team that is so willing and excited about following the Lord, wherever he leads.
Goodbye Africa, Hello Asia!
