Hello World!

I’m Jonathan Sander – oldest of 10 children, homeschooler turned engineer, and most importantly, servant of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have a deep urge to clearly and concisely explain every little thing about who I am, so that after reading this you can know everything about me and who I am.  But I realize that’s not possible in 1 short (or even long) blog post, so I’ll just try to hit some of the highlights.

-I love Math.  Seriously.  I’d rather do Algebra than crossword puzzles…..it’s just so enjoyable!

-All my life I’ve wanted to be an inventor.  That’s what drove me to engineering, and still does….I’m a sucker for clever contraptions.

-I like to dream big, pick a plan, and go for it….I’m very self-confident, sometimes too much so haha.

-A good friend and I were talking the other day about which superhero we think we’re most like.  I said I thought I was most like Iron Man….and then we decided that the fact that I think that’s who I’m most like, probably supports the fact that it’s true. (Ya follow?)

-I often tend to overanalyze things.  Big time. (e.g., see above!)

-When it comes to communicating, I much prefer clear, concise, feeling-less facts. (Not always a good thing!). Bullet points are my friend.

-Despite everything I’ve said so far, I’m not a cold, heartless robot. (At least I don’t think I am?).  If you spend any time at all stalking me on facebook, you’ll soon discover I love hanging out with little kiddos….especially newborns.  Growing up as the oldest of 10, there was always a little one in the house, so I guess that’s basically normal for me now.  Many of my good friends are married and popping out babies, and that makes for lots of good times babysitting!

-I have 300+ stainless steel staples permanently in my left lung….it popped a hole a month before coming to college.  (Because if you wanted to fix a hole in a balloon, you’d totally use staples, right?)
