This month has been a very very full one.
Every day we’ve done almost the same thing – but still every day has been different.
Tomorrow we’ll be hitting the road (or the air rather) for Thailand. I can’t believe our time here in India is already over.

Here are a few snippets from our month.

Me: “Brother, can I use the toilet?”
Shakar Babu: “No no, just we go by side of road. Come brother”

Every night after service they serve us the same thing – Chicken and Chipote. They try to give you more, and more, and more…..no doesn’t seem to be an option. And then when you finally get them to stop piling it on, and start praying for the meal, they sneak more on while you’re praying!

Last month the standard toilet was a squattie. It was quite an adjustment, but we got used to it. At several of the villages we went to this month, they didn’t even have those……you just go out and pick a spot in the field.

India’s independence day is on August 15th. We got to celebrate it with them – they get just as into it as we do in America!

Next month we’ll be in the city of Kanchanabury, on the western side of Thailand, close to the Myanmar border. We’ll be working with a family that’s associated with YWAM. It sounds like we’ll be way out in the jungle, doing quite a bit of farming. They say the closest place to get internet is 30 minutes away, so it should be interesting! We’ll first spend 2 days at the YWAM headquarters in Bangkok for orientation before heading out.

So much happened this month, that I feel like I must certainly be leaving some things out.  If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments, and I’ll respond!
