When I left the states for Nepal, I really had no idea what to expect. As you have hopefully read or heard, I experienced lots of new, incredible things, and began to adjust to a new way of living life.

When I left Nepal for India, I once again had no idea what to expect. But upon arriving, I quickly realized that I had some residual expectations based on our experience in Nepal.

India is different than Nepal in many ways. There are huge shopping malls, big outlet stores, freeways and overpasses, highrise buildings, traffic lights, and if you look hard enough you can even find ice for sale. Kathmandu, the capitol of Nepal, had none of these. So even though they’re right next door to each other, have an open border, and have many similarities in culture – there are many differences.

This month our whole squad is living together in a big christian conference center that is a part of ICM (India Christian Missions). Each day the 7 teams leave for our respective ministry sites at 2pm, and return around 10pm. Several of the teams are helping with various after-school programs – hence the strange schedule.

Our team is doing village missions – yesterday was the second day, and it seems to have the feel of “classic” missions work. Every day we go to a new village. Our translator connects us with the local pastor in the area, and we split up into 2s and 3s and go to each home and pray for whoever’s living there. Then at 7pm the local church has a special service just for us. There’s some worship, then we sing a couple songs for them, 2 or 3 of us share our testimony and preach, and then after the service they all line up and come forward, and our team prays for each of them. After service we have a late dinner at the pastor’s house, usually around 9pm, and then head back to where we’re staying.

It’s alot of praying, long days, and it gets tiring. But it is great to see how the Lord is providing strength for our team, and the things he is doing through us.  And I’m very thankful for the opportunity to connect with the people here in this way.

I hope this gives a good opening perspective of what our ministry will look like for the month, and I hope to keep you posted on what we see the Lord do this month.

Please pray for the people that we come in contact with, that their hearts would be soft, and open to what the Lord has for their life.  People love having us pray for them, and literally chase us around asking for prayer.  Pray that we can help communicate that healing and blessings don’t come from us, but from the Lord, and that he is the 1 and only true God, not just another god to add to the long list they already have.

In the fundraising department, I’m nearly at $10,000 – praise the Lord!  Our next deadline is 11,500 by the end of next month.

Thanks for taking the time to be a part of this!
