Goodbye Nepal! Hello India!
Ok so I really wasn’t excited about India. I have heard so many horror stories from racers and from others I know who have gone to India.
I didn’t really want to go to India.
My team and I ventured into Hyderabad and had an orientation with the AIM base. We then got our assignment a couple of days later.
We were to go to the village of Vallala in the area of Nalgonda.
At first we had thought that we were going to be paired with a team but like the other months, with the exception of squad month, we were alone.
I think a lot of us were very wary of the unknown that was going to take place but I can only speak for myself.
We traveled on and came to a two story building in the middle of a vast valley. The top of the building was decorated inside as a church. The bottom was a home that housed Pastor, his wife, his two kids, and ten wonderful children that did not have parents to take care of them so they lived with Pastor.
I was nervous about this but the more I lived in community with them the more I loved them.
What I thought was going to be a month of a valley of depression turned into a valley of ministry and fun.
I was able to teach the children a dance to a Christian rap song. I also was able to lead worship every night and preach most nights.
India turned out to be my favorite month thus far.
It was a surprise to me that I enjoyed it so much but God had His hand in everything and allowed our light to shine in a place where darkness thinks it’s winning.
India is definitely a place I will never forget and a piece of my heart will be here still.
If you go to India anytime soon enjoy what God has for you and don’t fret about anything because you will have a great time.
