I serve God who still heals today! All you have to do is ask God in faith and pray in Jesus’ name. God has already given us the POWER through the Holy Spirit. (Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 1John 4:4) This happens when you receive HIS GRACE that God offers to all of us.
My team Mishpacha, which means family in Hebrew, has been working at a hospital in Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala painting different areas of the hospital. One of the days this past week we were finishing up painting, I walked past one of the patients and I asked, “How are you doing?” He said, “Ok”, with a not so happy look on his face. This was all in Spanish because barely anyone speaks English. Then I let him pass me by. God then spoke to me and said you need to go pray for him. I told one of my teammates, “We need to pray for this guy.” He said, “Yeah sure let’s do it.” So we walked up to him asked him for his name, which is José, and why he was here at the hospital. He said he had something wrong with his stomach and was going to need surgery on Monday. We couldn't get the full details because we didn't know that much Spanish, but you don’t need the full details to pray with someone to be healed in Jesus’ name. Then we asked Jesus for José to be healed. After praying with him we asked. “Can we keep praying for you everyday.” So we did that for three days. On the fourth day, which was on a Friday, I was painting the curb at the hospital when José came by dressed in his regular clothes. He said, “I’m not going to have surgery and gloria a Dios” which means “glory to God”. Praise God, it is so awesome to see when God does a work in someone else’s life and it brings me so much joy.
Now it’s time to tell how I serve a surgery canceling God in my own life. So back in April, six weeks before I went to the World Race Training Camp, I broke my collar bone by standing on the running board of an SUV when the driver decided to drive off with me on there. I tried to jump off and my feet got twisted up. So then I landed on my shoulder and my collar bone broke. Yeah I know, I shouldn’t have been standing on the running boards of an SUV that was not smart of me. So I went to the doctor four days before training camp and they said that my collar bone had not started mending together. Usually a collar bone starts mending together after three weeks; mine had been six weeks. So the doctor said I would have to have surgery after I get back from training camp. I was still believing God for healing. So I went to training camp with a broken collar bone. I had so many people pray for me to be healed at training camp so awesome. During one of the nights, I was taking a shower and felt more movement in my shoulder. I was like God is healing me. After training camp was over I went back to the doctor and the doctor said I was not going to have surgery and that my collar bone was mended together. Praise God!! I serve a God that makes the impossible possible for those who just BELIEVE.
