Get ready because in the next few paragraphs you will have a crash course into my life, whether you like it or not. So…I guess I’ll get started then. I grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada (that’s just North of Washington State, near Vancouver) as the youngest in a family of five. I have amazing parents who would support me in
anything I plan to do, and a brother, sister, brother-in-law and spectacular niece (she is 6 ½ months old and adorable.). All of us kids live away from home but all still get together a lot.

Some personality traits about myself are I love being busy and always have something on the go. I like to wake up early in the morning and stay up late at night (sleep really is a waste of time!) I just graduated with a Diploma in Horticulture, but I know now that I need a lot more challenging work than landscaping can offer, not that pulling weeds isn’t a great way to make a living…

I love adventure and have traveled to Europe, parts of Africa and Western Asia to go to Bible school, go on Choir tours, mission trips and just for vacation. I guess you could say I am frugal; it gives me a rush to live off as little as possible for months at a time, if I’m saving for something. I know now that God has truly given me a desire to travel, it took a little bit to realize this as a ‘God’ thing and not a ‘me’ thing but it really seems to make sense now.

I live with 4 other guys in a house in the ghetto. I love to renovate, the finished product is always gratifying to see. My friends that own the house are always pumped to have some help with the endless work an old house requires. Riding my bike makes me feel better about my impact on the environment but, who am I kidding, I do it ‘cause gas prices are ridiculous (there’s the frugal again!)

I have always wanted to mix travel with missions and have done so on quite short-term missions in the past. But I was seeking more. I did an internet search (you know one of those attached with a prayer saying “God, you can speak through this if you want…but please do, I need purpose”) and world race is the first thing that popped up. Obviously I was skeptical but I let it sit for a few months and… the rest is history. I am so excited for what God has planned for my life and all of our lives through this trip, just think of all the people we can bless in our Father’s holy name, it’s so exhilarating.
