I know it’s crazy that I wasn’t already baptized but yes, it was the truth! I know many of you are probably extremely astonished at this piece of information and thinking, “How could Jonathan get any holier?” Well, I can and am holier ever since January 27th at approx. 2:30p.m!
It all started when Samuel, the main Pastor, who is kind of coordinating all the ministry in this area came to our town and invited us, over and over again, to a party that he was having. It was a praise and worship service as well as a baptism, right away Talia was pumped and said she wanted to get baptized, and I said yes very soon afterward. I never wanted to get baptized just from peer pressure or from parent or family pressure but on my own accord.
So here I made my proclamation, just outside of a small town called Jerusalem in the Palapas River I was dunked and baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The old has gone and the new has come, what an exhilarating experience to declare to everyone around that I am All for Jesus!! I wanted all of you back home to be here with me, but alas I looked into the airline tickets and it was a little out of my budget. So the best I can do is a couple of pictures… enjoy!
Samuel gave me a verse just before I was dunked, Col. 2:12 – If it’s an initiation ritual you’re after, you’ve already been through it by submitting to baptism. Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. (The Message)
Oh, I almost forgot, Eric Retterbush was baptized as well, I still can’t believe that such an amazing team as YETI had so many unholy people on it, yet we still did amazing things. Look out world, we are over anointed now, ready to conquer!!!
