I want to begin by thanking everyone that has joined me in this mission. By praying and/or giving financially you have joined me in this mission whether you know it or not, becoming apart of God’s plan for His people. I consider you my partners in mission. Even though you may not be out in the field with me, you have been a forerunner with your prayers and with your giving, allowing the Lord to work through you in providing for me as I seek Him and look to Him for it. Thank you for allowing yourselves to be used by the Lord for His mission of reconciliation, and thus becoming my partner.
I have realized that I haven’t been keeping up with this blog and that it is important that I do, even before I leave so that I can keep you guys updated on how we are doing. As of yesterday I sit at just under $8000! It has been amazing watching the Lord work in providing for me. After I sent out most of my support letters and waited a few weeks not expecting much more response from them, I wasn’t sure where the rest of the money was going to come from. Then a few of my friends here in Columbia hosted a chili drop-in for me one Saturday. They paid for everything, cooked all the chili, and brought everything that was needed. It turned out really well and we raised good bit of money. Then I thought, “well, what else can I do?”, when another friend approached me and told me she had been planning a benefit concert and that she wanted me to have all the proceeds. I was beside myself. I joined up with another friend of mine leaving for the race in July, Kali Benthal, and we split the proceeds of the show. We were given a few thousand dollars! It was remarkable the way the Lord used that to provide for us.
It has been so good seeing the Lord provide even in my lack of knowing where the next dollar is going to come from. He is good and faithful to provide, and it is even more exciting for me to see how we are allowed to join Him in His purpose for others. I love nothing more than to see the Lord provide for me a community of brothers and sister who are supporting me and joining me as we obey our Loving Father. Praise Him for ALL things are from God, to God, and through God, for the glory of His name. Romans 11:33-36
