”This is my Bible and it‘s oh so dear to my soul,

You can find it on the dash board of my taxi no matter where I  go.

It may look old and each page may have a tare,

But I promise you there’s still power in the messages it shares.

See I wouldn’t trade this book for the whole entire world,

To comprimise my faith for some friends or a pretty girl.

I wouldn’t lose appreciation because it may seem old,

I stand with my ripped Bible and share it because I’m Bold.

I tell each passenger the importance in this powerful  book,

“Maybe if you get a chance you will give it a second look.”

Its messages can guide you and lead you in this life,

Wether your dealing with depression, loneliness or strife.

Start or end your day with it like the rising or setting of the Sun,

Because we never know which day will be our final one.

So before you get out and go on your merry way,

Remeber the book I showed you on this wonderful African day.

And if you get the chance to own a book like this,

Read it through from front to back for that’s my only Wish.”

This attempt at a poem was inspired to me by a Taxi driver I had the pleasure to meet in Ghana who had this Bible on his dashboard. He was honored to own it and cared little to none about its condition, just simply appreciated that he could call it his own. It still amazes me what some people will do to simply read God’s word and how some who have every possibility to read it will never give it the time of day. Let’s appreciate the gifts we are given. God loves us so much he wrote us a personal Love Letter to remind us each day all He has done for us. Pick it up, give it a read and you will not be disappointed.
