In a Breath

It is funny what all can happen in one breath. You can say a few words or sing a verse.
You come in taking one deep breath and go out gasping for one last breath.

In those few seconds a whole world of crap can do down.

From a death to a birth, to someone finally talking to Christ.

 

Now if you stick with me you will get my point.

 

So many times we focus on the past and let it drag us down. We also let it define our future.

Now I am guilty of it as well, but that gives neither me our any one else a right to live that way.

For so long I have let my past define who I am when in truth, I am defined by God.

God has made me a new creation, re-born into the family of God.

I am a son of God; Royalty can only describe how God wants to treat us.

 

So it is time to live the life that is truly mine and leave the old one in the dust to rot.

To fully give all of myself to God and let Him lead me, and teach me.

No matter where He leads I will be there in the true self that is meant for me.

So I am letting go of my past, because my future is only as great as I allow it to be.

 

The past is only a memory. Your future is not based on your past, but on the very breath that you are breathing right now. It is what you do in this moment that defines the future. So make every breath count. Remember that you are made new in Christ! Free from yourself.

Yes you are your own worst enemy; your own burden can bring you down.

 

That is why Jesus said to take up his yoke, because it is light, and His burden, because it is easy.

Jesus set you free from yourself and from the religious laws that said do this and do that.

He gave you a ticket to salvation for simple price, be completely re-born to this world.

To stand out from the crowds of the dead and lost, to be a light in the darkness.

 

Jesus said: You are the light of the world; a city on a hill cannot be hidden.

 

Now in a breath you can let loss a smile, which is one small way of shining your light.

Use your imagination to find little ways to let your light be seen.

But most of all let every breath you take be furthering His Glory.

Your future is based on the very breath you are breathing.
