Hello everyone! So this week is training camp week! I'm super pumped about it. I've had the itch to go camping and hiking for awhile now and not only is that itch about to be scratched, I get to do it with some new friends with the same purpose of spreading the Gospel. I'm just about all packed up and my pack only weighs 30lbs so far. Speaking of my pack, I'd like to give a special shout out to my friend Chance for letting me borrow his pack, tent, and sleeping bag along with other camping items for training camp. It would be a rough week ahead without his help. Today I'm traveling down to Springfield, Mo to hang out with my friend Josh for the day and tomorrow at 2:30 in the morning I'm meeting a few new friends to carpool with to Georgia!
This week the Holy Spirit has been telling me that the Lord will provide for me, but I still have to do my part and be faithful that he will provide. To be honest I've been really lazy about fundraising and have been relying mostly on my own earning for the trip. So it's time for me to take action. I decided the best way to get back on track for fundraising is to set some goals. My ultimate goal in fundraising is to raise the $15,500 required for the trip. I already have $3,500 so my goal is to find 100 people to commit to just $10 a month or $120(the amount of $10/month for a year.) That will add up to $1000/month and would put me right on track to raising the rest of the money. Another small goal I set for myself is to send out three letters today before I leave for camp. I put these numbers out there so that I could have a goal for myself and work towards it, not to force anyone to donate a certain amount. I really don't want anyone to feel any obligation, but these are the numbers and I would love for everyone to prayerfully consider signing up for $10/ month. I've also set up a few donation boxes at my work, Custard's Last Stand.
Today I'm praying for fundraising, safe travel, training camp, and for the people we will encounter on the race. Please keep my prayers in yours! Thanks for reading everyone! I'll blogg some more this week and hopefully it will be a little more interesting!
