Great news everyone!
I am officially fully funded for my race!!!
I want to thank each every person who has donated to help me get to this point! Whether it was a small amount or a large amount, each and every penny was needed for me to get here. And I couldn’t be more grateful!
I’ve had the privilege of seeing God work through each and every one of you, as well as in mysterious ways! One of those ways being getting into a car accident!
For those who don’t know, back in February I was driving down a one-way street in downtown Omaha with my best friend to grab some breakfast at a local cafe.
(Now I’m not very familiar with the streets downtown.)
So I’m driving down this one-way and I see the cafe on the right and the parking lot for it on the left side of the street. So I decided to start turning into the parking lot. Unfortunately I spaced the fact that it’s a TWO lane one-way street…
…and I’m in the right lane.
So I turn, and we get hit by another car right on my door.
Thankfully both of us weren’t driving very fast and both vehicles were still driveable. And no one was hurt!
Needles to say I was a little shaken up and quite frustrated with myself, as I’ve never been so ignorant. Especially with my best friend in the car with me, I had felt as though I had let him down.
But he encouraged me (as he always has) and reassured me that he was okay and that it wasn’t a big deal.
So I then exchanged information with the other driver and after about an hour we went on our way.
I then went home and called the insurance company, admitted fault, scheduled and appraiser to assess the damage and got that all figured out.
And throughout this whole process I remember being quite calm about the while situation. I was frustrated with myself but I was angry about it.
So after they assessed the damages they sent me their report along with a check for around $4,200.
Well after I got it fixed it only ended up costing around $2,800! Leaving me with $1,400 to put towards my race! So crazy!
I remember signing up for the race and looking at my account showing $0 of $16,267 raised, and not having a clue where I was going to get that money.
But throughout this whole process, I never stressed or panicked about it. Because I knew that if God wanted me to go that He would provide a way.
And He has. Because he is a faithful and just God. As his word says in Deuteronomy 7:9:
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations”
Again, thank you all for you support and prayers! God will surely bless you for you faithfulness to serve him!
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
