“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

It’s a new year, a new bible, a new country, a new continent, a new ministry, and a new team!

At the end of month 4 of the Race, they switch up the teams as they raise up squad leaders from within our squad. So I am no longer on my original team. My new team is called team Hot Rod (don’t ask) and is comprised of Abbie (Team Leader), Cat (from my original team), Josh (from my original team), Zack, Louise, Kristen, and myself (Treasurer).

We traveled to Zambia, our first African country, at the beginning of this month. And my new team has the privilege of doing Unsung Heroes for ministry this month.

As an Unsung Heroes team, we have the mission of traveling around the country seeking out new contacts to partner with Adventures in Missions in hosting teams in the future.

Which also means that we don’t have anywhere lined up for us to stay. It is up to us to find places to stay while we continue searching for contacts.

It is a lot of relying upon the Lord to lead us to those he wants us to meet with and to provide lodging for us. Of which He has done an amazing job so far!

We were blessed to stay with our fellow team’s contact for the first 4 nights (free of charge!) in Lusaka and met with one or two contacts there.

And on Tuesday (1/12) we traveled to Kabwe to meet and stay with a christian organization called Operation Missions (OM) which we had contacted before we had arrived in Zambia. But we ended up meeting a lady who was on our bus to Zambia who happened to work as HR of this very OM! Such a God appointed meeting!

He’s even provided for me personally. While at debrief at the end of last month, I was led to do some research on all the different bible translations. And throughout researching I felt a desire to read a new translation, one that was deeper and more literal (I was reading NLT). But I had no idea how I was going to aquire a new bible that was in English while overseas, let alone in the translation I wanted.

Knowing my God is capable of anything, I asked Him to provide me with a new bible and in the translation He wanted me to read. Not knowing how he was going to provide though, I just kept praying for it and keeping my eye out for opportunities.

After about a week we arrived in South Africa and spent 2 days there while we waited for our departure to Zambia. While there someone discovered an OM office which contained a christian cafe/bookstore. So my team and I decided to go there the day before we left to do some research for this month.

Turned out that they had a bunch of bibles in English and in multiple translations! So I felt free to choose the translation I wanted. I chose an NASB (New American Standard Bible), of which they only had one edition which happened to be a study bible (which I prefer)!

So God not only provided, but He over provided, by allowing me to choose and by it being a study bible!

I love how God has provided so much for me and my team so far this month and I look forward to seeing how He provides for us the rest of the month!
