Welcome to my blog!

If you are reading this, you may or may not know who I am, so I am going to give you a little insight on my life and why I am going on the World Race.

I’m Jo, and I am from Texas. I was born into a Christian home, but like many children who knew about Jesus growing up, I knew about Him, but didn’t have a relationship. I didn’t truly understand who Jesus was until about the time that I went into my church youth group and I met one of the most influential people of my walk. I started seeing God as my Father, a loving yet stern presence that I could talk to in times of distress and in times of happiness. Flash forward to college after many events took place, my relationship with God changed many times, and I found how to love Him again.

I was set to be an Agriculture Specialist or something (I wasn’t completely certain), but my friends and I went on a random worship outing to a dirt road and my life did a complete 180. I was praying when I felt the need to be in the ditch across the road with my forehead in the dirt. I was praying harder than I ever have, and what can only be described as the Holy Spirit washed the word “missionary” over me. It was in my whole being, and I knew that I had to change my major and pursue something that would help me become a missionary.

Now, I am going to graduate with a degree in Journalism, and I just know that I love to write and impact people with stories from others. Something kind of fun about me is that my favorite color is yellow, I love coffee and sitting in the local coffee shop, and have a slight obsession with travel.

My Myers Brigg personality is XSFJ, so I answered the same amount of questions that pertained to being an extrovert and an introvert. I am a Hufflepuff, sorry, I love Harry Potter too. Finally, I drink my coffee black with a little bit of sugar.

Get ready for this blog as I go through the year leading up to the World Race and for the 11 months that I will be out in the field. I will be writing some serious posts, some fun ones, a few photo blogs, and maybe a video blog (vlog) or two. We’ll just see what happens, but thank you all for reading this!
