Hello, I have been in Da Nang Vietnam for the last 18 days! It has been very different from the other countries I have visited. First it is a closed country so we can be christian but we can’t evangelize and there are churches here but they have to be apporoved by the authorities. For precautionary reasons we try to be discreet as we can while still making an effort to tell people about Jesus.

We are staying in a hostel by the beach! It feels like we are always by the ocean! I’m not complaining. The ministry host lives in an apartment a block away from us. We go over there a lot to talk about what are days our going to look like. He has had about 18 world race teams over the years. So he has a lot of experience with “The World Race”. Are ministry this month was building relationships with the locals. Our host told us right away that we will be “making friends” and inviting them out to coffee and what not. Basically building a friendship with locals and then eventually telling them about the love of Jesus.

A big part of this process was english club. We had this on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights. Writing this blog now we have been there 3 times now. When we are out in town we try and invite people to the different clubs. Then at english club we make friends and invite them to hang out with us.

Early in the mornings we go out to the beach and work out or play volleyball. To try and interact with people at the beach. At 5:30 in the morning the beach is really packed. That is when there is the most activity at the beach. It is really hot during the day so everyone goes out in the morning. We don’t have a lot of scheduled ministry. So we have to fight to do ministry and it is what we make it. It has been really fun so far, I have really enjoyed it.

I feel like I can use what God has given me real well with this. I love talking to strangers about anything and loving them. It wasn’t always be easy for me, but when I gave my life to Christ I started to do things that I feared and right now it is really helping.

Lastly our ministry host has been really accomadating. He invites us over a lot. He opens his house to us and to a lot of the locals. We have seen one local here at his house very frequently and he is on the cusp of knowing Jesus as his savior. So be praying for that. We have invited him out a couple of times. Also I have met a lady named Kelly. She is a buddist and I have been hanging out with her so be praying that she would pursue Jesus. Pray for the young people in the english clubs that they would know Jesus. That others would continue to pour into them after we leave. The population of christians in Vietnam is very little, something like 4%. Love ya ll.
