Dear Friends and Family,
We hope this letter finds you well! We are writing to tell you about an incredible opportunity we have, and we’re so excited to share this news with you. In the last few years, we graduated from West Virginia University and got married in January of 2010. After our wedding, we moved to Charleston, WV where John Michael works for United Bank as a Commercial Portfolio Manager and Ashley works for Covenant Home Health Care as a registered nurse. We’ve both grown to love what we do and where we live, but recently we felt as if God was calling us to do something radical with our lives. Growing up we both participated in mission trips near and far and still today, we know the Lord wants us to use our talents, abilities, and hearts to serve while spreading His love to others.
That is why in September of this year, we will be leaving everything we know and love to serve as missionaries through an organization, Adventures in Missions, in their World Race program. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, we will develop broken hearts that propel our hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. On the World Race, our team will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of Christ’s love to many tribes and nations. We know this will build an even stronger foundation for our marriage and allow us to grow closer to the Lord.
We are so grateful for this opportunity that God has given us, and have every confidence that He will provide for our needs! Ultimately, our prayer is that He will do that through you. We’re writing to you to ask if you would consider partnering prayerfully and financially with us in our ministry. We must raise $30,000 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of our expenses on the field. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 100 people pledge $25 a month for 12 months or $300 one time, we would have 100% of the funds necessary for our trip.

We know this will be a challenging experience at times, but we are stepping out in faith and trusting that God’s plan is better than our own.
