Hello all-

I hope you will venture to my About page and read my testimony about how I got saved and what lead up to this point in my life. I am very excited about being called by the Lord to go on this mission trip and see the suffering firsthand that I have only heard about previously, finally feeling like I’m able to do something about it. On the trip, I will be posting weekly blog updates, keeping my supporters in the loop and relaying my experiences in the field as vividly as possible.

I am launching in January 2019, traveling to Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Romania, and Ukraine, respectively. Each destination will last a month, and we will be caring for and ministering to the “heathen strangers” in need, providing food, support, protection, labor, and education (teaching English), while spreading the good news of Christ and leading them to the living God. The program is called The World Race, and it is run by a nonprofit organization called Adventures in Missions based out of Gainesville, GA, where I will be attending training camp in October. Since 1989, they have sent over 100,000 missionaries out into the field to do the Lord’s work.

Although I will be constructing and sending out a support letter in the near future, I wanted to cover the basics for those I can already reach. In order to go, I need to raise $18,700 in addition to paying for the backpack that I’m going to be living out of and everything therein. These things may seem daunting to some (putting everything you need in one backpack and raising $18,700), but I’ve kept it simple my whole life and am confident in the numerous confirmations I’ve received about this calling, and that when He calls, He will provide. I am infinitely grateful to whoever feels in their heart to contribute. In addition to the necessities outside of the fundraising, if need be I am planning on contributing as much as needed, as I have mine set on it.

I don’t have that much of my own, which is one of the reasons at superficial glance it might seem more logical to continue to build in my second year of teaching, but my understanding is not God’s, and now it seems more clear that after coming into the proverbial green and having less things to worry about, I am now being prepared to launch into what He really wants me to do, this being a stepping stone to whatever is after. As talked about in my testimony, His backing is all you really need in life.

As for the logistics of the donations, I wanted to go over a few key things.

If you want to donate by credit card or bank transfer, click on Donate! on my blog and select your desired frequency.

If you want to donate by check or money order, it needs to be made payable to Adventures in Missions with my name in the memo line and mailed to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570. Cash is not accepted.

If you want to donate through an Electronic Funds Transfer (Dynapay), go to adventures.org/dynapay to fill out an online form for EFT transfers from a checking account and specify me as the person.

Your donations are tax deductible. If your chosen giving method is through the postal mail, you will receive an acknowledgement via standard U.S. mail approximately two weeks after your gift is received. For gifts online via credit/debit chard or eCheck, you will receive an electronic acknowledgement as soon as your donation is made. Donors will also receive calendar year-end tax receipts documenting such gifts as deductible contributions for income tax purposes in the United States. Each donor is advised to consult his or her personal income tax advisor for the applicability of such contributions in his or her own circumstances.

They are also non-refundable. As a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, IRS regulations require that all tax-deductible contributions must be irrevocable and that any such organization must demonstrate full discretion and control of the donations. Therefore, donations cannot be refunded or transferred after they are made.

Finally, your donations are secure. Adventures in Missions and The World Race websites use Rapid SSL and encrypt your information for security purposes. Your information is not shared with any other organizations, and they take care to protect your privacy.

Please note that your donations may not be able to be seen on the support bar on my blog until up to 7-10 business days while they are processing.

Thank you again if you decide to contribute to the make John super-rich kickstarter. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my life and all I will share it with, on and off the field. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. God bless.
