The international symbol for surrender is the placing of one’s hands over their head, with the hands raised towards the sky. This the position cops ask suspects to take and give the command “FREEZE!”
This is also a tremendous posture for worship. Two days into training camp this word, this idea of surrender has been ingrained on my heart. The first night we talked about surrendering our expectations for this trip- surrendering our route, who our team will be, our sense of adventure, and also surrendering our idea of who we think God is. The first three I had no problem, it was the last one I was struggling with.
After thinking about it, praying and seeking some counsel this idea began to take root. I must surrender my idea of who God is so that he can teach me- teach me the things I already knew and some ENTIRELY NEW things.
