Well it’s been about a month since my last blog post, so needless to say there’s a lot to catch you up on. Let’s start with the ending of month 1. It was awesome. There were still hard times and difficult situations, but we grew from them. Those difficult things helped us grow as a team, and they helped us become better at loving each other. Our ministry host took the guys on our team to a kickboxing match, and it was freaking awesome. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done for sure. Our month ended on a bittersweet note. While we expected some of the kids to be sad that we were leaving we did not expect almost the entire middle school class to cry on our last day. So while it was nice to see that they liked us, it was also sad to have to leave. All in all Cambodia was amazing and I’m really glad that it was our first country.

After we left Phnom Penh we headed to Siem Reap for debrief. While at debrief we stayed at Overflow Guesthouse which is actually owned by AIM. It was pretty great. I won’t lie the enemy had a hold on me the first few days and I was holding onto a spirit of rejection, but God took care of that. While in Siem Reap we had the opportunity to go see Angkor Wat, one of the seven wonders. It was definitely impressive and worth going to see. However, while Angkor Wat is one of the seven wonders my favorite temple was the “Tomb Raider” Temple. We don’t know what the actual name is because we never heard it called anything but that, but it was absolutely gorgeous.

Leaving from debrief was really hard. Mainly because we had to leave at 2am and I was exhausted. We had a three hour bus ride. About a three hour wait at the border, and then we walked across the border (longer walk than you think) and met a new bus on the other side. After that we had about an 18 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai. Now half of us are at Lighthouse and half of us are at Zion, and its about a 15 minute walk between the two. Some of us are doing bar ministry, some are doing slum ministry and monk chats, and some are working in Zion Cafe. Zion Cafe/Hostel is where my team is at, today was our first day. I am currently working the from desk at Zion Hostel, I get off at 10pm, and then I will make the walk back to Lighthouse. So far Thailand has been awesome. The ministry we are working with is amazing, and I know it’s gonna be a good month. It’s all squad month, so all 40 of us are together for the month working in various field of the ministry.

As far as spiritual stuff God is putting me through quite the trial, and I’m really struggling. In my struggling I’ve noticed that I’m more easily irritated and tired, and that I’m having a hard time engaging with God. So please pray for me. Pray for peace, strength, rest, and resolve.
