My friends mean the world to me.
they are my Family in Jesus.
When i was in high school i got invited to a youth group called alabaster. Alabaster was 100+ high school kids crammed in the basement of a house worshipping Jesus. The pastor, Chris Armfield, who is my pastor today, was teaching through Exodus. He spoke about how Moses led the Isrealites through the sea away from egypt, slavery, and their old life. He said thats what Jesus does for us. He wipes away our old life and calls out into a wilderness that is vast and open. He frees us from slavery. God wants to do that for everyone. God wants to do that for the whole world. I could understand that. I could relate to that. Thats how Jesus introduced Himself to me. Thats when he became my Lord and Savior and Friend. I could get along with Him. He loved me. He was down to earth in ways i could understand. He stepped down to earth from heaven in humility and rescued us. He teaches me everyday.
I had the opportunity to do missions here in the states while i was in high school with my home church, Lee Road Baptist Church. I helped with construction and repair projects, lead bible studies, taught kids about Jesus, and i have even had the chance to serve beside my beautiful mother and my awesome old man father that i love with all my heart.
My Parents Rule
I Graduated high school in 2007 and started working for a UPS store. I felt a calling to go Beijing China and it was the LORD so i totally said yes.
We Went during the 2008 Olympics. We walked the city and prayed for the people. We shared the Gospel with people who were willing to listen. A couple of us got lost, one of the highlights of my trip. One of my favorite moments was watching Lucy and Jack, the two kids in the picture above meet Jesus. that was worth the entire trip.
about two years later Resonate Happened.
I had community in my life after a bit of wandering and wondering what God wanted to do with me.
Resonate was such a blessed college ministry that it was planted as its own seperate church.
City Lights Fellowship where I go today.
God does good work and is shaping an entire group of people for the good of this city.
so.
About two and a half years ago i was really down. Then i read this book called Love Does. Its by this really cool guy named Bob Goff. It changed my entire life. Every aspect of how i walked was impacted. I read sixteen chapters in one sitting. I didn’t read that much around that time and when i was in the Word i listened to an audio bible. so yeah, the book spoke to me. I read all the time now. Reading is better than video games. Around that same time i started writing songs and poetry and serving in my churches youth group. One of my friends, Rob Miller needed a ride to a friends house after Resonate one night. So i drove him to the Price family home. I met a girl named Rachel who was about to do the World Race. She was really excited about it. that was the first time i heard about it.
i didn’t really look into it honestly.
even though i saw awesome pictures.
heard great stories from her.
i just thought it was beyond me.
But then the phrase started repeating in my heart a few months ago.
“The World Race”
so i googled it.
I signed up.
got accepted.
Here I am.
I am excited to see what the Lord does on The World race.
