We officially left Oenpelli today and crossed the East Alligator River to Jabiru! We are here during the wet season and it didn’t rain at all until we got monsoon like weather the last 36 hours in Oenpelli, threatening us from getting back on time, but we mad it!! We will be here for a night before heading to Darwin for a couple of nights before our flight to Singapore Friday. We’ll stay the night and then have two more flights before we land in the Philippines for country number three!!! We are currently staying at a missionary couple’s house named Lindsay and Louise, they are such a blessing to us and are allowing us to use their internet for a short bit. Oenpelli had many memories when it came to the people, the ministry, and culture/habitat. There are many stories I would love to share and photos about the beautiful aboriginal people of the Northern Territory Outback of Aussie land, but we had to take a chartered (small plane) flight over to Oenpelli which meant our team had a HUGE weight restriction and had to pack light! So I had left a lot behind in Darwin including my laptop. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to get some photos uploaded and all the stories about our time in Oenpelli. Thankfully, our team leader and his wife, Katie, made this awesome video of our time in Oenpelli that can give you a small glimpse of what we have experienced. I hope you laugh, enjoy it, and see just a glimpse of the beauty of the Lord in His people and creation. Until then, I hope to get some blogs posted soon, it’s been a while!!!
p.s. happy belated valentines day!!
p.s.s. kind of honest, we’ve been cheering for Australians here for the Olympics, and of course the Americans!
