God’s been doing some really awesome things especially in our lives when we may not even realize it. I felt like it was time to give you an update on the preparation for the World Race Mission Trip. As you may recall it has been moved to January.
So far as of today I am at $9000 pledged and committed. The goal is $13,800 but remember that’s “committed”. Actually I have a little over $6000 but from commitments people have made it’s where I am close to, but there’s still a long way to go. There’s still almost 5,000 to go for the next six months. I want you to know that this ministry is legit and the work we’ll be doing is truly lifechanging. What you all prayer and support for directly influence the poeple I and my team will come in touch with changing lives, and you have such a direct part in that. I am not expecting anyone in this group to give, but that’s how it can easily be accomplished for the kingdom of God.
The decision to move to January was a good decision and one of the biggest prayer request I had was my car and if I didn’t get to sell it by Aug I would have had to come with a few extra thousands of dollars to cover the loan payments and insurance. I got a call from a church to do a Interim Music position here in town and it’s like God truly providing. I love doing it, it’s what I’ve studied for and have a heart for worship, they had a need, I had a passion, and it will help. With what they will honor me financially as a interim there and for the time frame that I will probably be there, it will offset the car costs, how awesome is that?! God is truly providing.
Another praise, I got my credit card paid off at the beginning of this month! So know I can start saving on the side for the extra money I will need as personal spending for the mission trip! Debt is awful, as we all know!
Lastly, I wanted to bring you all up to date about some events. This coming Sunday (July 26th) I will be speaking at one of my college roomates and best friends church outside of Elizabethtown about my mission trip. I ask for your prayers that God will give me the right words to say and soften the hearts of the people on the need of Christ in ALL nations. My friends Kyle and Jessica Page have been a huge blessing and for them to let me come speak and to allow their church to give is a blessing beyond words.
My other college friend Holly Sharp is throwing a party here in Lexington at the church I’m working at right now called Journey Baptist Fellowship on 3450 Richmond Rd., Lexington, KY. It’s a party for guys and girls and it’s a fundraiser. I don’t know all th details of what it’s about but it’s at 2pm at Journey Baptist Fellowship on Aug 9th. Feel free to come as she will show you some products for men and women and there will be refreshments for people. If you have questions call me at 859.559.2797.
I will be planning on having a yard sale that will have A LOT of cool stuff that I won’t need and/or can’t have during the time I’m gone. I’m looking at Aug 17th. Many people have told me that they have stuff they want to get rid of and just want to donate it to the sale in honor of my trip. If you have anything that you would like to donate in honor of this trip for the yard sale feel free to let me know before then.
The biggest event so far is our dance/party event at Awesome Inc. in downtown Lexington. It’s going to be on Sept. 11, (yes, i know it’s 9/11) but it’s the best date possible. We are going to do something in honor of it also during the night, but we are going to have a live DJ from Field Goal Unit, a couple of extra music bands for concert, HUGE rock band games on a HUGE screen, raffles, food, cornhole games, etc. This is goign to be one awesome night of fun and more details will come once it gets closer.
