Kids camp finished a couple of days ago and the last couple of days have been much of a rest.  It was so incredible seeing God move in the hearts of these 100 kids this past week, many of them came to Christ and others learned more about the love of God amidst our sin that we have in our lives.

On Thursday night I was able to sit down with all eleven of our kids in team “Wagawagas” and share the gospel with them in a more quiet and focused environment.  God was evidently working and questions were asked.  With some help from the other leaders and using the bridge illustration we had four boys want to come to Christ and later that night one of our girls did also!  The others either weren’t ready or were already Christians.

When this became a moment of reality of Jan. 14th, I had Sam take the boys to their cabins and then I met each one of them for about 10-15 minutes each and talked about God’s love for them, His plans for our lives, but also the fact that a “wonderful plan for your life” doesn’t mean roses, but that His will be more rewarding in our growth towards becoming more like Christ.  Nothing is sweeter than to pray with them and hearing them in such sincere tones truly wanting a taste of the kingdom of heaven.

Datu, Joseph, Cain, Dylan, and Jordan were the ones that came to Christ and later we would share more about reading the Bible, praying, and just walking the faith out.  What was really cool is how excited some of these kids were to get their first Bible, especially Datu.  He immediately began reading it in his bed before lights out in the cabin.

Datu always struck me the moment he walked into our cabins the very first day.  He’s incredibly quiet, well behaved, but seemed so open to learning about God.  I made sure him and the others knew that angels are rejoicing over them because of their decision to believe in Christ.

Today we cleaned the whole place down and I truly know that this is an answer to prayer.  In a couple of days there’s going to be a HUGE Christian conference called “New Wine” here and the camp is expecting about 500-1000 people and they have already any room.  We had to move out of the cabins and are now in tents.  Two other teams have joined us to help us and I don’t see anyway the camp staff could have gotten ready (especially after the recent kids camp) without the 20 of us that came to help.  The next week until next Tuesday we will be cooking, cleaning bathrooms, and just serving this conference.  We literally turned this place upside down to meet the needs of this conference.  Cleaning cobwebs and windows, moving chairs, furniture, and everything else may not be what you call “glorious outreach” in a lot of eyes, but if we can help in making this camp/conference center clean and able to be used for an event that can bring hundreds closer to Christ, then it’s just as important as kids coming to Christ.

I have more in my mind to write about the last couple of days but it will have to be in the next blog…God bless you and thank you for your prayers on these kids, we had many come to Christ and it’s great your’e a part of it.
