We landed in a small airport.
It was hot and humid outside.
We got some weird stares from people.
We got cramped into a hot bus with all our gear.
Our driver was dodging traffic with our bus.
We are staying in a small compound with 15 people.
I’m already almost finished with my bug spray.
The toilets have crazy rules you have to follow so it doesn’t break… there’s only two toilets…
There’s one shower… it’s cold and there’s a chance you might run out of water.
A kid bit my ear while I was carrying him on my back.
My arm was also bit… by another kid.
One tried to remove my tattoos.
Apparently I was in the way of a soccer game so I was asked to sit down on the side….
A bunch of kids then proceeded to jump on me.
My hat was stolen by one of the kids.
My watch was played with a lot. I never know the time.
They kept jumping on me and wanting to be carried. I had 3 kids on me at all times.
They tired me out with soccer, doing flips, dancing.
I got sweaty.
My back and arms started to hurt.
They were jumping on me from out of no where!!!
We climbed up a hill to evangelize but ended up helping build a house instead, we were not dressed for it…
It’s been the best week of my life!!!!
Thank you Lord for the blessing of humility, and the gift of abundant joy in the midst of change, unfamiliarity and discomfort.
Thank you for the smiles of your children. Thank you for their life, their energy, their innocence, their desire for love and their ability to love.
Thank you for showing me a perspective that humbles and gives me a grateful heart.
