Street cart food looks sketchy. In fact, most food places do. But, eat the banana pancake burrito things if you are ever in Cambodia. Most definitely worth it.
Taught a new bunch of kids today. The age group was from 8 to 15, so it was a bit difficult to come up with games simple enough for the young ones, and complex enough for the older ones to stay intrigued. Any ideas?
Went to the river slums for the first time today. Bought some bananas to hand out to the people, and they were very appreciative. They don’t have very much, or words that we understand, so they often will offer a chair. Reminds me of the scripture about the poor widow giving all she could:
“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.’”
Mark 12:41?-?44 NIV
This is my challenge to everyone back at home, and one that I plan to try for myself: Give a gift everyday.
And do it in love!
