Didn’t have Bible study today since Stephan had to go somewhere. Instead, I busted out the game Quelf I’ve been keeping stashed away. If you haven’t played, it is a game where you just try to reach the end of the board by completing weird tasks on the cards. Going to change it up to make it weirder and last longer.

For afternoon outreach, I was with the girls on my team. We went to a cafe to make some note cards that said “Jesus loves you”. Took them to the park and handed them out to people. I met a guy who knew only how to say that he was Buddhist, and that we were Christians. One thing about the language barrier that I like least is that I can’t always explain things to those who I come in contact with. I can’t tell the guy that it doesn’t matter that he is Buddhist and that Jesus still loves him. I can’t tell the guy that all God longs for is to have a relationship with him. All I can do is hand him a paper, nod my head when he says / asks to me to make sure I know he is Buddhist, and then not take back the paper as he hands it to me but instead give him the thumbs up and okay hand gestures.

In a way, I think something gets worked into his heart without having spoken anything he understood. With a language barrier, I’m not able to confuse that man with many words. Instead, all he had was the simple Way, Truth, and Life. He got the Gospel in the most basic way possible. Perhaps someday that note will have him consider what he believes and open him up to looking for God. Whatever may happen, I am glad to have had the privilege to share with that guy. I got my leading to hand him that note, so I listened. Even if that man doesn’t turn to Christ, I am happy that I grew closer to God by listening to Him.
