Slept in before playing more chess with Noah. Tried to help give him some pointers so I have more competition. After a game or two, we started in on our part of Thanksgiving by starting the cooking fire. I’m supposed to be helping with the green bean casserole, but I was able to trade jobs.

Went to the doctor shortly after lunch to get a confirmation on this shoulder. After zig zagging around the hospital with Matt and Esther, finally made it to the orthopedics section. Met a nurse named Jennifer who is from Washington, and she made it so easy to translate. The doc says my arm will be fine and that based on the amount of pain I initially had along with my ability to lift it without issue, I shouldn’t have any internal issues. Still have 2 weeks in this annoying sling before I start another 2 or 3 weeks of therapy. I’m just glad that my insurance deductible has been reached and everything will be for free.

Thanksgiving meal was great. We had a turkey and mashed potatoes and mac n cheese and all the good foods including pumpkin pie. Even had a live stream of the Cowboy’s game on a projector. After, David told us some things he had been studying on thankfulness and shared some stories with it. Really put into perspective how easy it is to not be thankful.
