In 12 hours, our entire squad will be in Spain! Though we will be travelling internationally as a squad of 34, we will be journeying for 10 days along El Camino de Santiago, a Pilgrim’s journey in our smaller teams of 5-7. What a beautiful opportunity to activate into these roles of full time missionaries by meeting and ministering to people who are seeking wholeness…and we offer the message of the eternal hope of Christ! I am immensely excited about this opportunity to follow Jesus and journey beside these beautiful women. Meet my team, Team Daughters of the Light below!

Kelly: Kelly’s name means “Bright-headed”. Early in training camp, our team name Daughters of the Light was invoked because of Kelly! Kelly is a master observer. She has a gift to see the world with a fresh perspective, recognizing the heart and spirit within the room. Her original creativity and eye for beauty inspires her teammates. Appropriately, Kelly is serving as a storyteller for our squad.

Gina Marie: Gina Marie is named after her two aunt’s, Virginia and Marie. Inside of this quiet leader with gentle strength is a woman in awe of the Lord, who boldly worships with her [beautiful] voice and guitar. Her teammates admire her hunger for growth and reverence for God. Gina Marie shocked our team when we were assigned to make a music video and found out she can play every instrument by ear!

Landry: Landry’s name means power or ruler in French. However, she was named after Tom Landry the Dallas Cowboys football coach (though she has style that far surpasses his!)  We’ve quickly come to know Landry as someone who is present and emotionally SO alive! Landry can talk to anyone. She has a genuine spirit, infectious joy, and a heart to invest in people with even the shortest interactions.

Kelsey: Named after her father, Kelly, Kelsey is a name most probably derived from Old English, which meant “ship’s victory”, or “fierce”. A gentle face and spirit, but a fierce heart for God. Long before we nominated her as our team leader, Kelsey demonstrated a leaders heart, beating to just know God more. Kelsey is gifted in making strangers friends by simply knowing their name and grasping pieces of their story, making them feel loved and cared for. She makes her teammates feel deeply known and always goes the extra mile to honor their views

Joelle: Joelle’s name means Jehovah is God. How fitting is that?! Joelle has a rare and bold spirit within her. She is full of deeply rooted wisdom. She yearns to see the world in a lens of grace, and has a heart that beats for justice, and leading people to claiming Christ’s victory. She is gentle, but exudes a subtle and humble strength.
