Have you ever taken a spiritual gifts inventory? I have. In fact, several times in the past, my top gifts have been mercy, hospitality, and pastor/shepherd. But recently I took another test, and administration was in my top three. “I am so boring”, I thought to myself. I have known that this is a strength of mine, but it is not one of the fun gifts… you know, like apostleship, healing… the ones that shine bright and encourage people in the Lord.

I have to be honest, I had not thought of logistics as ministry in the past. For several years I have had head knowledge about every job being an opportunity to serve God. It was not until training camp where I was invited to be a logistics leader and began to have training in the role that I truly saw how God uses ANY job to glorify Himself and advance His kingdom.

It wasn’t until after training camp this June and ongoing discussion and prayer about the perspective of Life is Ministry, and Ministry is Life, that I came to see that administration is an immensely important part of serving the kingdom!

As logistics leaders, my co-leader Shela and I get to love our squad in a unique way. We steward finances in order for the squad to travel and live missionally abroad, research (I LOVE research) transportation and lodging, communicate with hosts, organize squad debriefs throughout the year, and help lead the squad smoothly[-ish] 😉 from country to country. And y’all, God has shown up BIG in just these few short weeks. From miraculous withdrawals from malfunctioning ATMs and finicky international cards, to the generosity of a host in the eleventh hour, or the EXACT number of bus tickets becoming available after a crazy late airport arrival!

God is not limited in His abundance. He is generous, and I get to depend on Him and ASK Him to provide for these big, tangible needs. What a wonderful God.
