As I’m writing this, there are 163 days remaining until my squad leaves for the World Race.
5 months plus one week.
We will be traveling for 9 months for the sole sake of loving the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the hopeless just as Christ did—human souls like the untouchables in India, or the countless refugees and women trapped in the sex trade in Eastern Europe. These are gypsy children, women in oppressive cultures, those who have been told by their society and that they are without worth, and who our Father aches each day to hold in his arms. Even now the Spirit is building this squad, preparing us to follow and pour ourselves out in love, however and wherever we can.
And even with the Spirit moving among us, none of us could do this without you—and believe me, I’m not just saying that to sound all Hallmarky and sweet. I mean it. You are being asked to be a part of this trip. You are being asked to help make this possible; you are being called to minister personally in all five of these countries. You are exactly the sort of person God needs in this mission.
How can you join my squad in this? The greatest way you can be a part of this is through your prayers. I know it sounds small, but I entirely believe that you praying for the Father’s will to happen on this journey is exactly what is needed for that to happen. James assures of this: “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16). I would be honored if you will commit to pray for me, for my team, and for every person we’ll interact with over the course of these nine months.
How else can you help? Well, you see that teal bar at the top of my screen? That’s the amount of money God has provided so far, and as you can see, I still have roughly $9,000 left to raise (a HUGE thank you to all those who have supported me thus far. You are all incredibly encouraging to me, and I’m so grateful that you’re joining me on this journey!!).
Now, I get it; nobody likes to talk about money, and you may or may not have much to give, and my intent would never be to guilt anyone into donating anything. But I would certainly ask you to pray about it—not only because the money is a necessity if I’m going on this trip, but because you are exactly the person I want to join me on this trip. You matter, and you deserve to be a part of what I believe God is gearing up to do. I don’t know whether that should be prayer or donations, but you deserve to join me in this.
5 months and one week; $9,135 left to raise—and in all of it, God is immensely faithful, and through people just like you I am positive this dream will become a reality.
