Today I want to remind you that God is good! Here’s how I’ve been seeing his goodness lately:

  • In spite of Hurricane Irma disrupting my teams travel plans out of Romania, God provided a bus that took us to New York. In addition to flying out of the country safely, we got to drive through Washington D. C. and New York City on 9/11—a pretty humbling experience!
  • My squad and I also enjoyed a long layover in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal. In addition to some sightseeing, the group I walked the city with got the change to meet an Italian named Andreas. We ate some pizza he cooked for us, heard lots of his story, and were even able to tell him a little about being made in God’s image and pray over him and his wife!
  • After a long and sleepless 96 hours of travel, we have arrived safely in Draganesti-Olt, Romania, where our squad will be serving the next 3 weeks.
  • Already, we’ve had the chance to start ministry! Gap L split into 2 groups and traveled to the villages of Flora and Icuana to partner with Hope Church in eyeglasses ministry. Only 0.2% of people in this region of Romania have a life-giving connection to Jesus Christ, so it was beautiful to be able to meet both physical and spiritual needs of many elderly people living in the area. I was able to serve on the counseling station, which means I met with those who came for glasses, shared the Gospel one-on-one with them with the help of a translator, and prayed over each person who came in.

Thank you for all you’ve done to bring me here—God is moving, and he is good

Please keep praying for Gap L—my squadmates and I are quite tired from the long travel to Romania, but are all excited to partner with Hope Church these next few weeks. If you’re interested in learning more about the church and what they do, you can look at their website at hoperomania.org. Thank you for loving me so well!
