We’re preparing to end our time here in Africa. It’s been a tough three months sharing Jesus and learning so much about Him through the love of the people of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. There were days on this continent that I wanted to leave because of the challenges, even some that I wanted to return to America. But especially after the past two weeks with the Maasai, I’m already missing this place before we’re gone. East Africa has finally started to become home just as we’re ready to leave on a plane for India.

But, it really is time to cross the Red Sea – our flight path should take us right over before we land in India. We will be traveling and sharing Jesus in Northern India at the base of the Himalaya mountains for the next few weeks. And as I stare at the large map of the world in our hostel here in Kenya, I feel like we’re rejoining a good friend. We’ll once again be fairly close to China, although this time next to the tightly restricted plateau of Tibet. And just to the East lies Nepal and Mount Everest. For some reason, although Africa has been an amazing and necessary learning experience, my heart for Asia continues to grow.  Most of these people don’t know Jesus, and as of 20011, 80.5% of India claims to be Hindu, 13.4% Muslim, and 2.3% Christian.

Random Fact about India and Nepal:

While much of the world breaks up time zones into one-hour blocks, India lies on a ½ hour time zone and Nepal uses a ¾ hour time zone.
