This statement has been one of my driving forces for doing the World Race. I have also heard it said like this, you can’t steer a parked car. You have to keep moving forward and let God guide you! So I’m currently sitting in the Atlanta Airport. My flight for India leaves in 10 hours and I feel like I’m waiting… but I know that God has devine appointments for my team and I here. Ministry doesn’t just happen when you travel thousands of miles away from America. It happens everyday, right in your back yard. You just have to MOVE and let God guide you!

America is an individualist culture. We are taught that if we don’t do things for ourselves then we will never be successful. We have to reconstruct our thinking to understand that we are on all doing life together. The World Race offers a Racer the ability to work together in a team. There is this principal that I learned in my undergraduate studies called synergy. In simple terms synergy is 1+1=3. (Stay with me here, because I’m about to tie this together and wrap it up.)

One of my favorite books in the Bible is the book of Nehemiah. They reason I like Nehemiah so much is because it is a book about leadership. God has placed me in many different leadership positions in my life and I find me self time and time again going back to Nehemiah for wisdom and guidance. I also believe that the world needs more courageous, visionary leaders like Nehemiah. You see Nehemiah is gained King Artaxerxes permission to go back to his homeland of Jerusalem and rebuild the defensive wall around it. This is no small feat and is something that is predicted take years to rebuild. Nehemiah 6:15 says “So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.” Without synergy and great leadership there is no way the wall could have been completed in just fifty-two days. Nehemiah used the resources he had around him to be as productive as possible.

In conclusion, we can just sit ideal thinking that God needs to make the next move. God calls us to live in community with each other, so moving is something that we don’t have to do alone. I know it’s something that I don’t want to do alone and God has placed me on an fantastic team for just that reason.

What are some areas in your life that you have been waiting on God to move?

How can you start leaning on the community that God has placed around us to start the movement?

Ps: I miss and love you mom! I think about you everyday and I hope you are doing well! Give dad a kiss for me:)
