A young boy sits on the top bunk of his bunk-bed he shared with his sister. In the bed, a bible was opened and the little boy was preaching. The little boy reads from Proverbs and John, and after he is done he asked those he was preaching too if they wanted to accept Christ as God. On that day, 20 stuffed animals accepted Jesus, and were saved.

Of course that story was about a 6 year old me, I had this crazy thought that my toys had never heard about God and were going to go to hell. (We can thank toy story for making me think toys were real.) So I wanted to see them go to heaven so I preached to them.  What is amazing is God not only set that night up for me, so that I would know the joy of seeing “people” being saved, but also that he rewards his children. My cat who had been missing for months was found that very same night by my mom, miles and miles away from our house.

Now, I am older and I have seen God save real people in front of my eyes, and there is such a joy to that. God has used me in many ways, from leading people to him, to relating with a 12 year old on what seems like a small level, but opens up a deeper relationship. I have served all around the USA, and have loved it. However, through all the stuff I have gotten to do, i have never been on a missions trip.

So why go on a mission trip now? Through me years of serving God and making many mistakes in my life, I have learned a lot about myself and how God has made me. I love to travel, its one of my favorite things to do, seeing new sights, meeting new people. It fulfills a God given desire. I also love to see God work in peoples lives, and while I love being in one spot with a group of people to teach, I found that I am more effect in small with people in small bursts. So putting together a love to travel, a love to see God work and to be used by him, mix that together with the gift of evangelize, and you get someone who is ready and willing to spend 11 months (for now) traveling the globe, being a vessel of God.

So why Asia? There are a lot of reasons, I love the history of Asia, I love kung-fu and enjoy watching anime. I love the food and music from Asia. More importantly, Asia has the most amount of people, who have not heard about God. They have not had a chance to be loved by a father who will never leave them, never forsake them, and never sell them into slavery. Which is another big issue in Asia. The more God that is in those areas, the less a chance, a poor young girl will get sold into sex trafficking, which is a major issue there.

God has prepared me for years to do this, and I would say it started with a little boy who had such a big heart he didn’t want his toys to die.
