One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite books. This quote as always, as they say, spoke to me. I have always loved the stories where someone leaves their home and goes on an adventure, not just for the sake of going, but on a quest to do something bigger then themselves. The world race is an adventure and it is a lot more then that, its going into the world and spreading the word of God to all who will hear. It fulfills all the desires God has put into me.

The words of a man broken and confused man, Jean Valjean had spent years imprisoned from his own actions, until God came and saved him. Like Jean, there was a time in my life that my own mistakes put me in a chains, not psychical but spiritual chains. While I believed in God, went to Church and did my best to obey him I was content to stay in my chains that kept me from growing. One day however, God spoke into my heart once again, and just like the bishop did for Jean, I saw my own chains. Since that time I have chased after God and he has lead me to amazing things, from loving on people during mardi gras to serving as a youth leader for middle schools boys. God is now leading me on the world race, and its another chance to learn who I am in God.

Yes I just used a Star Wars quote, no I am not sorry. Raising as much money as it takes to go on the world race is beyond my own abilities, I can’t do it on my own. However I can do all thing through Christ who Straightens me. So if I think to myself that I will try and raise the money, I am not putting my faith in God. So I ether go all out and do it, or I give up and do not do it, there is no in between.
Will I ever have to lift a ship out of a swamp with my mind, probably not, but I can raise the $16,254 with God.
As you can see I love movies and books, and for the longest time I have been comparing them to things in my life, and I enjoy trying to find biblical lessons out of them.
